A man has been reunited with his dog after she went missing three weeks ago.
Brian Farrell said a woman called him on Tuesday night and said she had his Siberian Husky, Shadow. Farrell agreed to meet her in the Winfield area. The woman, who did not give her name, told Farrell she did not want the reward money. She also told Farrell she wouldn't answer any questions surrounding the circumstances of how she ended up with Shadow.
Farrell said Shadow appears to be in good health and good spirits. He is taking her to a local veterinarian to get checked out.
Farrell said this would not have been possible without the support from everyone in the community.
People from all over the country are coming together to help a local man find his dog, which he believes was stolen.
Brian Farrell said he hasn't seen his beloved one-year-old Siberian Husky, Shadow, since Oct. 28.
"It was like she just vanished," he said.
Farrell had Shadow for almost a year. He keeps her inside his house when he goes to work. He said there is also a pet door that leads to Shadow's pen, surrounded by a big metal fence.
"Usually, when I unlock the door, she's there to jump on me and give me loving. That day she wasn't," he said.
When he went to look in his backyard, he noticed his fence was wide open. He said Shadow has never run away and he is convinced someone took her.
Shortly after Shadow's disappearance, one of his friends from South Carolina created a Facebook page to help him find her.
In less than three weeks, 'Help Me Find My Shadow' has received close to 1,500 likes from people as far away as the United Kingdom.
Brian said the outpouring of community support has been amazing.
"Last weekend, we had tracking dogs come out to help. Animal activists groups are calling me left and right," he said.
In the short year they spent together, Farrell said he took Shadow with him everywhere, and he just wants her returned.
"I love and miss her and I want her back. I'm not going to quit until I find her. I know she's alive and I know she's out there somewhere," he said.
Farrell said he has filed a police report.
