Marshall University wins fourth straight, defeats FIU


Tight end Gator Hoskins scored three times as Marshall won their fourth straight game defeating FIU, 48-10. Hoskins, a John Mackey award semi-finalist, caught six passes for 137 yards on the night. 

Quarterback Rakeem Cato went 15 of 31 for 241 yards and four touchdown passes. Tommy Schuler caught Cato's other touchdown pass. 

Marshall outgained FIU, 558-262.

Marshall now improves to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in Conference USA. The Herd will face East Carolina on Friday, November 29 at home. Kick-off is at noon. East Carolina will enter the game tied for the best record in the East division of the conference with Marshall. The winner will play in the Conference USA title game the following weekend.
