Charleston man pleads guilty to heroin charges


A Charleston man is facing up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to heroin distribution.

According to a news release issued by U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin, Brandon Christopher Solomon, 19, was charged with three counts of distribution of heroin, which was contained in an indictment that was returned in October, 2013.

The news release says that Solomon, who is also known as "Fresh", admitted that he sold heroin to a police informant in exchange for cash money.

According to the news release, Solomon was prosecuted as a part of Charleston's Drug Market Intervention (DMI) initiative, which was launched in February, 2012.

Soloman will be sentenced March 19, 2014 by United States District Judge John T. Copenhaven, Jr.
