Detroit man sentenced to prison for dealing heroin in the Huntington area
A Detroit man has been sentenced to five years in prison for distributing heroin in the Huntington area.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said Durrell Desean Lucas, also known as "D," had admitted in September to conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin.
Lucas, 40, told police he and several associates traveled from Detroit to Huntington in furtherance of the scheme over a six month period beginning in January 2013. He also made phone calls to an undercover DEA agent to arrange two separate heroin transactions on June 30 and July 1, 2013. Both heroin transactions took place in Huntington.
Lucas told police he sold 150 to 250 grams of heroin in and around Huntington. Police recovered about 12 grams of heroin he tossed out a window when agents arrived at his apartment in Huntington to execute a search warrant. The drugs were recovered, Goodwin said.
Chief U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers sentenced Lucas in Huntington.
