LATEST: West Virginia American Water releases latest MCHM water test results
West Virginia American Water has released its latest round of water test results.
According to a release from WVAM, all ongoing water sampling and testing results show extremely low or non-detectable levels of MCHM.
"Data points collected by our interagency team over the past few days indicate decreasing levels of MCHM," said President Jeff McIntyre. "The majority of samples are reading Non-Detectable. In areas where sample results show levels above the non-detectable limit, they are still extremely low and only a fraction of the CDC-established 1 ppm health-protective limit."
McIntrye said in the release that when levels of the chemical are found, crews are then dispatched to that area to continue flushing.
In regards to the announcement of a secondary chemical being released during the spill, WVAM said it is working with the National Guard to find the best way to re-test samples for the new chemical.
