According to the City of Logan Fire Department, the fire which occurred at Subway at 740 Stratton Street at 7:52 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in Logan County, WV was contained to the attic space of the building.
The rest of the building sustained heavy water damage.
The building was occupied at the time the fire was reported, however, according to fire crews, everyone got out safely.
One lane of Stratton Street was shut down until the scene was cleared, in which time traffic was diverted around the scene of the fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. The WV State Fire Marshal will be on the scene Monday morning of March 3 to investigate the fire.
Crews are on the scene of a fire at a Subway restaurant in Logan County, WV.
According to the City of Logan Fire Department, who are at the scene, the call came in at about 8 p.m. Saturday, March 1 in the area of Stratton Street.
A witness tells 13 News that people were inside eating at the time, when a passerby came to warn them that the roof of the building was on fire. The witness says that everyone got out safely. No injuries have been reported.
The witness also says that the roof collapsed, and there is a lot of water damage to the building.
