Foster care awareness event slated for March 12 in Huntington, WV
HUNTINGTON, WV -
Imagine not having or knowing of a safe and happy family life. That is the problem of being a child put into foster care, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. So to help address today's issues Marshall University's Women Connect organization is hosting Foster Care Awareness.
"This program will be of interest to Marshall students and faculty members, particularly those in the fields of health professions, social work, psychology, counseling, education and women's studies," Diener said in a news release.
The event is at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in the Shawkey Dining Room in the Memorial Student Center on Marshall's Huntington campus. Opportunities for internships, careers and service learning courses will also be discussed.
