A convicted sex-offender wanted for failing to register as a sex-offender and on a probation violation was captured in Portsmouth, OH yesterday.
Benjamin Mitchell was arrested at about 4:20 p.m. by the Portsmouth Police Dept. at an apartment on Union Street. Portsmouth police were acting on a tip given to the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.
Mitchell will be in court today for the charge of failing to register and will appear at a later time for the charge of probation violation.
Deputies are searching for a man wanted in Scioto County, OH for failing to register as a sex-offender.
Benjamin T. Mitchell, 24, was required to register by Feb. 28, according to a release from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office. Mitchell is wanted for failure to register and a probation violation.
Mitchell's last known address was in Portsmouth, OH but deputies have reason to believe he is now living in Oak Hill, OH.
Mitchell was convicted in 2013 for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
