    The West Virginia Autism Training Center is expanding its reach in the state. WV ATC, located at Marshall University in Huntington, has partnered with Concord University to develop on-campus support in Athens for students who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.

    The West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence are getting help from Verizon's HopeLine program to help those affected by domestic violence and child abuse.

AARP West Virginia and the AARP Foundation have partnered with more than 20 organizations to promote financial health during 2014 West Virginia MoneySmart Week, which is April 5-12.

The multi-state public awareness campaign from the Federal Reserve Bank stresses the importance of financial literacy, tells consumers where they can get help and provides activities as well as educational seminars. Other partners include the Federal Trade Commission and FINRA Investor Education Foundation.

An "Operation Scam Jam" Consumer University event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8 at The Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg. The event will feature state constitutional officers and officials as well as regional and national presenters. A "Fight Fraud, Shred Instead" free recycling event sponsored by the AARP Foundation will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 12 at Cabela's in Charleston.

Other events will include: a series of financial education and fraud prevention workshops, "Credit Report Day" with interactive webinars, "Teach Children to Save Day" and a "Money Management & Budgeting Tips" financial education workshop in Cabell County.
