A man was arrested after leading police on a pursuit in Roane County, WV.
According to Sgt. King with the Roane County Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old Richard White of Gandeeville, was charged with fleeing while DUI, driving with a revoked license, resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer.
Sgt. King told 13 News that a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) had been issued on White due to him driving with a revoked license.
When King tried to initiate a traffic stop on White in the area of Harmony Road in Gandeeville at 7:16 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, White continued to drive, going at a high rate of speed, in excess of 80 mph on a 35 mph road.
According to King, White was stopped in the area of the 4000 block of U.S. Route 119 southbound in Gandeeville.
King said that the pursuit lasted over a distance of five miles.
According to King, White was taken to a hospital due to injuries sustained from resisting arrest, in which White tried to drive away, in which King had to use force to stop him.
When White is released, he will be taken to the Central Regional Jail.
