West Virginia State Police (WVSP) are looking for two people who robbed a bank in Baker, WV. But this robbery has a twist. The suspects had distinctive “masks” on to hide their identity. One male suspect donned a “ clown”mask. And the other suspect, identified only as a female, wore a ‘monkey.” mask.
Both were caught on surveillance camera robbing the Capon Bank in Baker, WV just after 11 a.m. on Friday, May 16. According to a news release issued by WVSP they received a call just after 11 a.m. about a bank robbery along Route 55 near Baker, WV. Troopers were headed to the scene but the suspects quickly fled the bank after robbing it in a Chevy Malibu, blue in color, with Virginia plates.
The male suspect is described has having a stalky build. He was wearing a clown mask with orange hair. He was also wearing some kind of “gown” with flowers according to the same release. The male suspect, seen in the surveillance photo released to media outlets, also has brown hair. He had blue jeans on and brown boots when he robbed the bank.
The second suspect, seen in surveillance photos, is a female. She is seen in the surveillance photo wearing a “monkey mask” on as she entered the bank. She was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and grey pants.
West Virginia State Police say the Chevy Malibu the suspects fled in after the bank robbery was located Sauerkraut Road near intersection with WV Route 55. According to the same press release, the vehicle had been set on fire when troopers located it. The vehicle was originally stolen from Malloy Ford Dealership in Winchester, Virginia.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
