Man arrested for drug possession in St. Albans, WV; two others also arrested
SAINT ALBANS, WV -
One man, as well as two others, were arrested at a residence in St. Albans, WV Thursday evening.
According to the St. Albans Police Department, 49-year-old Timothy Dwayne Basham and two unidentified suspects were arrested at Basham's residence at Grant Avenue on Thursday, June 5.
According to a criminal complaint issued by the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, a confidential informant working under the direction of the St. Albans Police Department's Special Enforcement Unit made a controlled purchase on May 28 from Basham of Opana, which is a schedule II controlled substance.
Basham was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
According to the St. Albans Police Department, Basham has been arrested on felony drug charges before, and had a drug case dropped due to the fact that the Office of the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney forgot to ask for the drugs to be tested.
It is not yet clear what the other suspects' identities are, or what they were charged with.
Basham was taken to the South Central Regional Jail, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond.
