Man dead after electrocution in Mingo County, WV

According to the West Virginia State Police Williamson Detachment, the victim was identified as Thomas Smith.
Police say Smith was attempting to restore power to his residence, in the area of Delmar Brown Drive, in Belo, when he was electrocuted.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say an autopsy is pending.

According to 911 dispatchers, the call came in shortly before
Thursday, June 12, in the area of Belo, which is just outside of Delbarton.
Dispatchers say the man was trying to cut limbs off of a power line, in which he was electrocuted and died.
The man's name is not yet known.
The West Virginia State Police Williamson Detachment is investigating.
