It's summer break for students around West Virginia, but some middle school students are soaking up knowledge, rather than the sun this week.
All this week 8th grade students from 29 counties in the Mountain State are participating in Ambassador Camp Across Charleston.
Students met with different political leaders at the West Virginia Culture Center Tuesday.
"This is a great opportunity to really cultivate and teach our young West Virginians what it's like to lead our state, whether it's 10 years or 20 years from now," West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant said.
Secretary of State Natalie Tennant, State Treasurer John Perdue and First Lady Joanne Tomblin met with students Tuesday.
The camp comes to a close on Thursday, June 19.
