Dead horse found inside garage of Mason County, WV home
West Virginia State police have located a man they say lived in a Mason County home where a dead horse was found.
Troopers located the elderly man Tuesday afternoon in Wayne County. They said they have questioned him about the dead animal but have not yet pressed charges.
Last Thursday, a worker hired to cut grass discovered a horse heavily decayed and hanging from the rafters of a garage. He also found the bodies of two dogs stuffed in a bag.
“Nothing like this, around here, ever happens,” said Samantha Moore, who lives down the road from the house in question. Moore has several animals, including horses, she said what’s most disturbing is that the horse has not been taken down or removed.
“Instead of being left there or marked off, it's not even marked off. I mean there is full access to the garage,” said Moore.
State Police are still investigating exactly how those animals died and if any criminal activity was involved.
