CORRECTION: Man on make-shift moped injured in Greenup County, KY crash

SOUTH PORTSMOUTH, KY -
A man was injured after being hit by a semi-truck Sunday.
The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 23 and the U.S. Grant Bridge in South Portsmouth, according to a news release from Greenup County Sheriff Keith Cooper.
Thomas Robbins, 42, of Portsmouth, Ohio, had life-threatening injuries and was taken by air to a local hospital
The news release states several eye witnesses saw Robbins driving a make-shift, 10-speed moped. Those witnesses told the sheriff he ran the red light and that is when the semi-truck hit him. The semi-truck was going between 45 and 55 miles per hour. The semi-truck driver, Ricky R. Brown, 38, was not injured in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
The initial story stated that Thomas Robbins died in the accident, corrections have been made to reflect that he was injured in the accident.
