That's what Administrator of the Marshall County Health Department, Ronda Francis, says as parents get their students ready to go back to school.
They should start adjusting their kids sleep schedule about 10 to 14 days before school starts too.
"That means going to bed a few minutes earlier every night and getting up a few minutes earlier every morning," says Francis.
She also said it's important to have some time to wind down before bed and not let kids have any caffeine after lunch or play video games at least an hour before bedtime.
