House destroyed by fire in Racine, WV

RACINE, WV - A house was destroyed by a fire in Racine, West Virginia, in Boone County.

According to the Racine Volunteer Fire Department, who responded to the scene, the call came in between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, in the area of Travis Lane on Racine Hill.

One Racine VFD firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion, but was not taken to a hospital.

The Racine Volunteer Fire Department tells 13 News a couple living inside the house were able to get out safely. 

No other injuries were reported.

Boone County 911 dispatchers say the house is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Along with the Racine Volunteer Fire Department, the Madison, Danville, Morrisvale, and Whitesville Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene, along with Boone County EMS.
