Man arrested after pursuit in Huntington, WV; Police cruiser involved in pursuit hit by vehicle
HUNTINGTON, WV -
One man is in jail after a pursuit in Huntington, West Virginia, and a police cruiser involved in the pursuit was hit by a vehicle.
It began at the 500 block of 16th Street shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday, August 21.
According to the Huntington Police Department, officers who were on foot patrol approached a man for appearing suspicious. When they found drugs on him, he turned aggressive and fled the scene.
During the pursuit, an HPD officer with his lights and sirens on crossed an intersection and was hit by an otherwise uninvolved vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, a woman, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
The man, whose name is not yet known, was apprehended and arrested by HPD officers on 16th Street and 10th Avenue.
His charges are not yet known.
