Drugs found wrapped in strange items in Boyd County, KY

Two men are facing drug charges after an undercover sting at the Ashland, Kentucky bus station.

Deputies arrested Thomas Reid of Detroit, Michigan and Jeremiah Bennett of Proctorville, Ohio Thursday night. Deputies say the men were found in possession of approximately 250 grams of heroin. That amount has a street value of about $50,000.

Deputies say Bennett was picking up Reid from the bus station. From there, the pair was heading to Huntington. The drugs were found inside a pink book bag found in the car. Deputies tell us the heroin was wrapped in dirty, wet women's underwear, used tampons and fake hair. The heroin was also wrapped in a plastic bag with seasoning and spices around it to mask the odor.

Thomas Reid was charged with trafficking a controlled substance over two grams of heroin and possession of a controlled substance heroin.

Jeremiah Bennett was charge with trafficking a controlled substance over 2 grams of heroin.

Both men are being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.
