911 service is back on in Lincoln County, West Virginia.

According to 911 dispatchers, a lightning strike Wednesday night, August 27 shut down the county's 911 service for almost three hours overnight into Thursday morning.

Dispatchers said that no emergency calls went unanswered though, because of a fail-safe in place that switches calls to Boone County, WV.

In addition to the lightning, flooding was also reported in the Duval and Harts areas, but the water has since receded.
