Man arrested in Fayette County, WV on cultivation of marijuana charges
On Wednesday, August 27, Sheriff's Deputies in FayetteCounty, West Virginia received a tip that an individual was growing marijuana inside a home in the Lavista area. Deputies went to the home located on U. S. Route 60 and spoke with Herbert Wayne Bowyer, 62.
He let deputies in and gave them permission to search the home, according to a news release issued by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
Once inside the home, deputies found 26 large marijuana plants. The estimated street value is $65,000. Deputies also also found $5,000 in lighting equipment used for growing marijuana inside the home, according to the same news release.
Bowyer was not initially arrested but later turned himself in on a single charge of Cultivation of Marijuana. He was arraigned on charges and was later released on bond.
