Slow Cooker Chili Recipe
The big game is coming up this weekend and I know you're thinking good food and good times. What's better than some slow cooker chili with a toppings bar. Get your mind out of the gutter, I said toppings!
I start by blending different kinds of meat. I use 80-20 ground beef, some ground turkey and some ground sausage. Blending it's the key to a very flavorful and full bodied chili.
In my slow cooker, I get my veggies going first with just a scant amount of oil and butter. I've got onions, bell pepper, garlic and celery. Then I add my browned meat with a slotted spoon so the oil stays in the pan. Now here's who I invite to the party:
I also use 2 cans of diced tomatoes with their juice and one can of tomato paste. Oh and don't forget the beef bouillon.
You start this in the morning, put it on low and 6 hours later you've got yummy-ness.
Set up your toppings bar of cheddar cheese, sour cream, corn chips, saltine crackers or my favorite cornbread. And for those who want their mouth to be on fire some Tabasco sauce.
This is my go to game day chili recipe. Thanks sharing a meal with me. I hope you have a delicious week!
