I first make my corn meal candied bacon. Dust the bottom of the pan with some brown sugar and cornmeal. I know it sounds crazy but trust me. Lay down your bacon and do another dusting. You'll cook these for 15 minutes at 375 degrees.
I've already made a pan and have taken out the bacon. But keep it. Not only will we sprinkle some of it on the brussels sprouts but what you don't use you can put on chicken sandwiches, in your omelettes or wherever you like your bacon. Sprinkle with olive oil, some thyme, basil, nutmeg and salt and pepper. Go light on the salt because remember the bacon. You'll cook these in the 375 degree oven for 30 minutes, turning once.
And this is what you get. A side dish that you might even talk your kids into eating. tell them to focus on the bacon. that gets em every time!
