Student stabbed by another student at Johnson Central High School

JOHNSON COUNTY, KY (WOWK) - Noel Crum, Principal of Johnson Central High School, released the following statement in regards to the student-involved stabbing earlier today:

An altercation occurred today at Johnson Central High School between two students. One student had a pocket knife in his possession and inflicted one stab wound to the abdomen of the other student. The injured student received immediate medical treatment from local EMS. He was fully conscious and was transported to the local hospital in stable condition. School personnel and administration quickly responded to the situation and along with local authorities contained and secured the area. There was no outside threat and other students in the building were safe. Student safety is of the highest priority at Johnson Central and violations of the law are handled in conjunction with local law enforcement and will be prosecuted in accordance with all local and state laws.

Crum says that the attacker was immediately detained and is now in police custody.

A student has been transported to a nearby hospital after being stabbed in the abdomen with a pocket knife by another student this morning at Johnson Central High School. 

According to Johnson Central Principal Noel Crum, the student was quickly transported by EMS and was fully conscious.

They are believed to be in stable condition.

The other student is in police custody.

School operations have resumed as normal and Principal Crum says there is no threat to students at this time.
